Overview

You will give an in-class presentation on your final group project during the final week of class. The purpose of the presentation is to showcase your high fidelity prototype, and to present what you have learned through your user-centered design process.

Presentation Format

You will be required to give a 20 minute presentation with the following sections:

  1. Summarize software genre, user population, and early data gathering results (3-4 min.)
  2. Give a live demo of your high fidelity prototype (walk through core task scenarios) (6-7 min.)
  3. Present usability study, key results (video clips required), and proposed design changes (6-7 min.)
  4. Answer questions from the audience (3-4 minutes)

Presentation Requirements

  1. Your group must use a computer-based presentation tool (e.g., Powerpoint). This implies that you must use a laptop computer
  2. All group members must be involved in the presentation (you can't just have one spokesperson)
  3. Your presentation must include a live demo of the sofware
  4. Your presentation must include video clips that substantiate your usability study results
  5. The 20 minute time limit will be strictly enforced. Please rehearse your presentation ahead of time, so that you know that it can be given within the 20 minute limit.

Scheduling your Presentation

I have randomly assigned groups to the following presentation slots. Note that several slots fall just before or just after or regularly-scheduled class period. If you have a problem with this, please let me know in advance.

Your prototype presentation will be evaluated according to this assessment form. Be sure to study the form before you prepare for and give your presentation.
