“Some Cougar football fans from TriGeo have expressed concern that my “loser shaves beard” bet on the WSU-Idaho game is unbalanced, because my beard is perhaps thrice the length of Jack’s. If true, it is not unreasonable, because this is akin to giving Jack better than even odds, something that Idaho needs in the game. In other words, since WSU is 3X more likely than Idaho to win, it would be reasonable for the WSU fan to risk 3X the beard.

However, this is comparing apples and oranges. While it is true that Jack’s beard is much shorter than mine, it would take him at least 10X as long to grow it back to its current length than me to grow my beard back to its current length. Unless, of course, Jack undergoes massive amounts of injection of testosterone or ingestion of Cougar Gold cheese.”
