Cpts 455 Week 2 assignment
Due 5 PM on Friday, Sept. 5, 2008. Use the turnin page on the course web site to upload a single file (Word, OO, or PDF)
containing your answers. For the quantitative problems show your work. (Note: if you use word 2007
please save in .doc format rather than .docx format.)
Do the following problems from the textbook, chapter 1:
- Quantitative problems: 1, 6, 17, 20, 28 (you should have enough knowledge to do these though some of it will
come from previous classes (e.g. speed of light for prob. 6 and probability for prob. 17) and won't be found in the chapter.
- Thought problems: 3, 4, 19 (again, the answers are not necessarily to be found in the chapter -- think about what
is said in the textbook and your own experience).
And do the following problems from the textbook, chapter 3 (not 2 as it said previously):
- Quantitative problems: 2, 3, 5, 15
- Thought problems: 4, 12, 16
