Conclusions

The animation scheme presented here is relatively simply to understand and easy to implement even for those with no previous experience generating such graphics. Despite this simplicity, the resulting animations can often provide information about the underlying physical aspects of a problem that would be difficult to obtain using traditional plots or ``still'' images. The scheme is not inherently tied to any single computational method and can be used in conjunction with virtually all standard problem solving techniques (e.g., the finite element method, FDTD, or the method of moments). Finally, for those interested in having total control of their own graphics/animation package, the scheme presented here can serve as a solid foundation on which to build.
