Feb. 4

• Midterm exam 1 on Feb. 11.
• Open text (no other printed material) and class notes/handouts.
• All topics covered in class till Feb. 4 will be included.
• Exam will include 2-3 design problems, which would require use of a computer (at least partially).
• These (only the designs) have to be turned back in by 8:00 p.m. on Feb. 11.
• Postpone Problem 5 in HW 2 (regarding frequency transformations) to HW 3.
• Solutions to HW 1 can be accessed from this page.

Typos in Handout #1:  Handout #1 (corrected)

• Property 1: r(m) instead of r(m-1) in the last row and column.
• In the Cholesky decomposition, the (n,n+1) entry of matrix T is a_n(1) instead of a_n(n)

• Download HW 4 (due on Mar. 11)
• HW 5 will be assigned on Mar. 11 and will be due Mar. 22, MONDAY.
• Exam 2 will be "take-home." Assigned on Mar. 23 and due on Mar. 25
